Pro
Diver/Sport Diver/SeaTorch Rechargeable Battery Charging
Instructions
Your
batteries are shipped in a discharged condition. Please
charge your batteries for 24 hours the first charge to ensure
all cells are equalized. After the first charge, to prolong
battery life, charge no longer than 14 hours. Your NiCad
batteries will achieve their optimal performance after 5
charge/discharge cycles.
Charging
To charge your battery, screw the charger
cap onto the battery case.
The switch must be in the 'ON' position to enable charging.
Charge a fully discharged battery for 14
hours, a half-discharged battery for 7 hours, and a partially
discharged battery for a similar proportion or until it
becomes warm. Disconnect the charger from the AC power before
turning the switch or removing the screw cap from the battery.
Avoid prolonged periods of overcharging.
Using
the Batteries
Your battery is fully discharged when the
light becomes dim (yellows). To avoid battery damage from
over-discharge, turn the light off at this point until the
battery is recharged. If you want maximum runtime but your
battery was charged several days ago, you may top off the
charge for an hour or two just prior to use.
Storage
Charge your batteries fully prior to storage.
Store in a cool, dry place (Do not refrigerate). The batteries
will gradually self-discharge over a period of several months,
with as much as 10% being lost in the first 48 hours and
40% in a month. Remove batteries from the case during storage
to prevent the lamps from accidentally turning on. After
storage, charge the batteries fully for 14 hours or until
warm before use. We recommend you charge batteries once
every 6 weeks to reduce the chance of the batteries losing
their effective life.
